More than 200 children will have presents under their Christmas trees, thanks to the generosity of community organizations and the dedication of HCDDS service and support administrators (SSAs).
This year, the Children’s Team of SSAs partnered with Girl Scouts from St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, Digital Technology Solutions, Total Quality Logistics, and Towne Properties/Harper’s Point Apartments to provide gifts for children HCDDS supports and their siblings.
“This is our favorite time of year when we can assist in bringing the Christmas spirit to families in need,” said Beth Ruhe, assistant community manager for Towne Properties’ Harper’s Point Apartments. “We chose HCDDS, as it’s an organization near and dear to our hearts and to our residents’ hearts.”
Digital Technology Solutions bought gifts for 35 children, as well as gift cards to cover any last-minute requests. Assistant Director Maria Younghans said they value supporting families in need during the holidays. “The gifts help fulfill wishes for the children, but also extend compassion and hope,” she said.
Girl Scouts at St. Ignatius adopted 81 children HCDDS supports and their siblings for the holidays, picking out and sorting 170 Christmas gifts. Total Quality Logistics (TQL) participated in the holiday gift drive for the first time this year.
“We found a mission we believe in with Hamilton County Development Disabilities Services,” said Kaitlin Short, a buyer at TQL. “After working with them, we have been blown away by the professionalism and enthusiasm of their team! It’s been a joy to work with them and join in on their lasting impact.”
