Event Details

Joy Fuel: Upcycled Puppetry

1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 at Visionaries + Voices. 3841 Spring Grove, Cincinnati, OH 45223

Join Visionaries + Voices to create puppets out of found materials and bring them to life through crafting and characterization! They’ll be building these puppets using “trash”- think cardboard, scrap fabric, etc., and they can range from shadow puppets to more traditional, hand puppet styles. If you have no experience- never fear! You’ll be guided throughout the entire design and building process. Now, who’s ready to bring their creations to life?

Teaching Artists:

Zoë Peterson is an actor and award-winning playwright currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio. There, Zoë helped to produce the 2023 Transmigration Festival of student-devised plays and was the recipient for the University’s Best Play Award in 2023 and 2021. Outside of CCM, Zoë has premiered works at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival and Serials! At the Know- including the interactive horror-comedy series, Sally Salem. In their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, Zoë was the youngest member of Derby City Playwrights, a playwriting collective dedicated to new works. Zoë currently works as a freelance artist and theatre educator; facilitating classes on acting, writing, puppetry and filmmaking. A character-driven artist with a particular interest in new works, horror and classical theatre, they are often looking for genre-bending or absurdist projects.
