On Sunday, March 1, the Flying Pig mascot will cheer on a training group of athletes with disabilities and their supporters at LeBlond Rec Center. Now in its fourth year, the PigAbilities Meetups help participants train weekly for the one-mile event during Flying Pig weekend.
Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services (HCDDS) partners with Queen City Running Club to help people stay active and connect.
The weekly meetups are 2-3 p.m. on Sundays through April 26 and cover distances from 0.25 miles to 1 mile along accessible routes. See the training schedule below.
“These meetups are about more than just exercise—they’re about building confidence and community,” said Ann Myres, HCDDS Community Navigator and leader of the PigAbilities Meetups. “Everyone moves at their own pace, and we’re here to support each other every step of the way.”
“I like to do PigAbilities because it’s a way to exercise, but it also gives you a chance to meet friends,” said Miara Miles, 2026 PigAbilities Ambassador. “So come join us!”
