The Future is Now sessions help families plan for the future.

To support families and caregivers as they age, HCDDS hosts Future is Now Family Sessions. The Future is Now is a multi-part series designed to help older caregivers and their family members make plans for the future. Throughout the series, families get help to create a letter of intent. A letter of intent is a non-legal document that captures family desires and goals for the future. Creating a letter of intent can help families gain peace of mind that comes with having a plan.

FUTURE IS NOW

Helping with Planning for the Future

To support families and caregivers as they age, HCDDS hosts Future is Now, a multi-part series to help families plan for the future.

For families with adult children, our series is designed to help older caregivers and their family members create a letter of intent, which is a non-legal document that captures family desires and goals for the future. Creating a letter of intent can help families gain peace of mind that comes with having a plan.

For parents and caregivers of school-age children, we have a session where families receive guidance on building support networks and planning for healthcare, education, finances, housing, benefits, and life after graduation.

COVENANT OF SUPPORT

Covenant of Support Resources

A Covenant of Support is a caring community of friends and family members who make a commitment to be routinely involved in the life of a person with disabilities.

That individual, who is the Covenant’s core member, chooses to have a Covenant of Support and selects, sometimes with help, those invited to join. Each Covenant has a leader who helps members schedule visits in the individual’s home and coordinates regular gatherings of the entire Covenant.

These gatherings provide for fellowship and renewal of everyone’s commitment.
