Alice’s House

Alice's House

Alice’s House, located in Cincinnati’s Spring Grove neighborhood, is a respite center for adults and children with disabilities in Hamilton County. It was named after the former superintendent of HCDDS, Alice Pavey, who had a passion for respite services. Alice’s House provides both planned and emergency respite, with four bedrooms that can be reserved in advance, and four available for emergency situations, such as when a caregiver suddenly needs to be hospitalized. See a video walkthrough of Alice’s House here. HCDDS has partnered with St. Joseph Home to operate Alice’s House. Learn more about St. Joseph Home on their website.

Children or adults with developmental disabilities may be considered for Alice’s House short-term respite services. A team at HCDDS and St. Joseph Home reviews referrals to determine eligibility.  This team considers each referral individually to determine whether the person’s needs can be met in the respite setting, based on the services requested. Funding for each person is provided by HCDDS or a person’s IO/Level One/SELF Waiver.
